With service to 26 nonstop destinations and growing, Tulsa is truly at the center of it all.

Stephanie and her husband, who is holding a guitar, posing with their infant son on a flower-covered front porch.

I have a three year old son and that has been really good for him and for our family to be here. We are able to afford a bigger place to live. We have a backyard to play in. Some of these things we couldn't afford in California have been easy to do here in Tulsa.

Obum sits at a paper-strewn table between two elementary-aged boys, gesturing with open hands as they concentrate on his words.

Moving to Tulsa for me and her, our blood pressures went down because we are not stressed out anymore. We’re doing things. We’re enjoying things. We're breathing better air, we're going out walking. We are experiencing life. So that has really taken a toll on me and my health. I'm just a healthier person because I'm able to relax, take a deep breath. And my wife being happy does wonders for me too.

Christina, a young woman in a brightly-colored silk scarf, poses smiling in front of a mural.

When I first moved, I thought, what did I get myself into? I immediately was very worried and very scared, but I found my tribe. I found people that, finally, were like me. Getting to know Tulsa better, really allowed me to understand that every notion that I had of Tulsa was wrong.

Tulsa gave me the opportunity to slow down and enjoy my life. I have been able to find my passions outside of work, connect with a real community, and enjoy time with my family. I even purchased my first home as a single woman of color under the age of 30. Tulsa has improved my life tenfold!

Enjoy music-centric attractions, Route 66 and global food in Tulsa, Oklahoma

If you consider Tulsa, Oklahoma simply "flyover country," you're woefully misguided. Discover a town that's unlike any other in terms of American history, music, pop culture, art deco architecture and Native American art – and did we mention barbecue, Latin, Asian and soul food?
